A while ago, we asked you - the visitors of the DHI website - to give us your opinion about our website. Our intention was to increase services on the DHI website to serve our customers better. Indeed, we got a lot of valuable input from a broad range of visitors. Thanks to all of you who responded!
We will now use it to guide the further development, content and functionalities of the DHI websites. To honor your support and effort, we raffled a new iPad 2 with Wi-Fi 16 Gb amongst the participants of the web survey. Now, the winner has been drawn.
The lucky one is Vladimir G. Koutitonsky. Congratulations!
"Now that is a good way to start my day", Vladimir replied when he first heard the news.
Vladimir is a long-time customer with DHI. "I have used DHI MIKE products for over 15 years, first as a university professor and now as senior scientist of my modeling consulting company." For him, the website is a regular source of inspiration and information. "I always check the DHI Group website to find out how MIKE21/3 is being used to solve coastal problems. More specifically, I get ideas of proposals to various large engineering companies, using the MIKE21/3 modules. I also look at the DHI-MIKE headlines for the same reason and to be informed when clients ask me questions. Finally, I check the schedules and locations of MIKE21/3 training sessions of relevance to my company's fields of expertise."
Asked about what is most important for him to find on the website, Vladimir replies, "I am aware that DHI has a considerable team of software development experts and scientists that are at the forefront of scientific developments around the world. Most important for me is to find the scientific additions made to the MIKE21/3 modules family." The example given underlines that DHI not only unites some of the best engineers, but is also open to input from users and customers. "One example of such an addition is the ‘weakly reflective open boundary conditions’ option to the hydrodynamic engine of MIKE21", Vladimir explains. "I remember mentioning this option at one of the DHI user's conferences in Denmark, and found out on the website description of new additions after a while that it became included. I am a happy customer now."
